YellowPrivacy Policy
The short version
Yellow runs on your iPhone. The only personal information we receive is the name and email you choose to give us during setup, and only if you enter an email. We never sell or share it. Your app picks, activity and Screen Time data never leave your device.
Screen Time
With your explicit permission, Yellow uses Apple’s Screen Time frameworks (Family Controls, ManagedSettings and DeviceActivity) to shield the apps you choose and to re-lock them after a temporary unlock. Apple gives Yellow your selected apps as opaque tokens. Yellow cannot see the names of the apps you picked, and that information never leaves your device.
Data we collect
Only if you enter an email during setup, we receive:
- your name and email address;
- whether you opted in to tips and updates by email;
- a random install identifier, the app version and your device locale.
We use this to contact you about Yellow (support and service messages) and, only if you opted in, to send occasional tips and updates. You can unsubscribe at any time. If you leave the email blank, nothing is sent, including your name.
If you sign in (by tapping the emailed link or entering the emailed code), our sign-in provider also keeps your email address, the name you entered and basic sign-in records, such as when you last signed in. There are no passwords.
This information is stored with our database provider, Supabase, which processes it on our behalf. The app performs no analytics upload and contains no advertising SDKs or trackers.

Data stored on your device
Your protection rules, app selections, challenge and unlock history, streak and Yellow Score are stored locally on your device. This data stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app. Notifications (the morning score reveal and summaries) are scheduled locally; no notification content is sent to a server.
Subscriptions
Yellow is 7 days free, then $29.99 per year or $5.99 per month, sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card or billing details. Yellow receives only an anonymous, Apple-signed record of whether a subscription or trial is active, and keeps it on your device to turn protection on. This website
This website sets no cookies and has no forms. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not track you across sites. Our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and operations.
Children
Yellow is a personal self-control tool for the account holder’s own device. It uses individual Screen Time authorization only. It is not designed for or directed at children, and it is not a parental-control product.
Third parties
Yellow uses Supabase only to store sign-up details (name and email) and to handle passwordless sign-in, as described above, and Apple for purchases. The app does not use third-party analytics, advertising or data-sharing services.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date.
